My song to you from 2013

The Poem

Father's Day Poem 2014

-

We, the humans build & build

only to destroy

then we build and build

only to destroy it again

-

Me & my poppa

don't agree on a lot

for years I felt guilt

lessons I was taught

-

But no matter what happens now

and I do think Planet Earth is GOIN' DOWN

2 things always remain...

my memories with... and the love for my Dad

-

Not only strong willed women

shaped my life

often times my poppa was an escape for me

and I think I was for him at times

-

I think that when we are all on the

'other side'

we'll be basking in light and love

and be like (our life on Earth) - what the hell was THAT?

:)

-

Quite frankly, I Jason C Hobbs

is worn out by life

I don't feel much hope

for humanity and such

-

In those dark moments of me

I wrap myself in memories of Homer MI

in the 80's

or hanging out at the airport with my Dad...

PRE- 9/11

Christmas of 2000...just me and my Dad

at midnight mass at a downtown Indy church

my poppa crying in the green van not long after

Linda's passing.

I DON'T forget these things

-

Maybe I could have been a doctor

or a football star

or had lots of kids

or whatever

but I am simply me

a struggling artist who will probably be a low wage

restaurant slave until I'm an old man

who loves commercial jetliners and volcanoes

I could have been a better son and person in a lot of ways over the years...

but all in all, I am a kind, caring and sensitive person

who most regard in a positive light...

and I have more that just my Mom to thank for that!

-

I have no room left for guilt or remorse

life is too short for that anyway

you, yourself told me many years ago that guilt is a waste of emotion

and who know what the future holds

or if we'll ever have a deep talk or Christmas Mass again

I have found that life throws you all kinds of twists and turns

and usually DOESN'T turn out how you'd like or want

but no matter what...no matter what

even when you might be like...

we don't talk or ever see each other or whatever else

no matter what...the one sure thing you can count on to be 100% genuine and true in this crazy ass world

is I deeply and truly love my Dad...and always will

Happy Father's Day Dad and thank you for giving me life!
